Technical Climbing Clinic

Sedona is known within the cycling community to have some of the most challenging technical climbing in the United States. The variety and diversity of terrain here requires refined skill and strength.

There are several key skills that our team has identified as being essential for tackling Sedona climbs. Some of the skills are slow speed maneuvers while others require momentum and power. Knowing which skills to apply and when is critical to developing a solid climbing foundation. This clinic is designed to give riders a complete comprehension of our instructors technical climbing toolkit.

Sedona is the perfect location to refine your climbing skills with the instruction of a highly certified coach!   Join BICP Level 3 Coach, Evan Puglia (one of the top instructors in the Southwest) and gain a better understanding on how to ascend with more precision and skill.

Morning Skills Session:
This day-long clinic will start at the Sedona Bike Park where we will thoroughly review correct body position on technical climbs, the different types of climbing, wheel lifts, nose pivots, track stands, hops, adding traction and more.

Delicious Lunch Options:
A catered boxed lunch alongside the SMBA staff for an hour is an opportunity to connect on the clinic’s content or chat general MTB tips & tricks.

Afternoon Trail Session:
Our afternoon session will exclusively be on Sedona’s trails, seeking out iconic climbs and alternative lines known by the local SMBA staff.

This clinic is tailored for riders who identify as strong beginners through strong intermediates.  The group size will be small, ensuring plenty of individualized feedback for each participant.
